Dr. Negar Davis
With over 30 years of experience working in U.S. higher education, Dr. Davis’s theoretical global education credentials and practical international life experiences go beyond borders. Throughout her career, she has assisted thousands of students and their families to successfully navigate, enroll, and graduate from universities in the United States. Because of her passion and genuine care in helping international students, she has gained the respect and trust of countless professionals within the U.S. and internationally.
She earned her doctoral degree in International and Multicultural Education from the University of San Francisco and has held several administrative and teaching positions at major universities. Her responsibilities have included international education and enrollment management, overseeing international admissions, recruitment, international student and scholar advising services, academic advising, student engagement and retention, study abroad, alumni, and international partnership development. In addition, she has held several leadership positions at professional organizations such as NAFSA: Association of International Educators and AACRAO: American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. In addition, she has made numerous presentations at NAFSA, AACRAO, and APLU: Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities on international student recruiting and admissions, cross-cultural programming, and student support services.
Dr. Davis serves on the Board of Advisors for U.S. Educational Group committed to assisting young men and women of the Arab world in pursuing careers in higher education. Throughout her career, she has offered ongoing workshops to university employees on global diversity and has taught intensive English language, German, and Intercultural Communication courses. She has provided consultantship to universities such as East Carolina University and Appalachian State University seeking to internationalize their campuses. Furthermore, she has trained and mentored countless international education professionals new to the field. She has published articles on student recruiting and support services in various professional publications such as AACRAO, Strategic Enrollment Management, ACE: American Council on Education, and NAFSA.
She contributes her passion for international and multicultural education to her rich experiences of having lived and studied in 4 countries on 3 different continents, having travelled to over 70 countries, and on being multilingual fluent in English, German, Farsi, and some French. She is a firm believer of international education’s transformative power and according to her, “By studying abroad and receiving a global education, individuals begin to see the world from a different lens and learn to become flexible and understanding of our cultural similarities and differences.” In her view, flexibility and understanding are key ingredients for becoming global stewards and promoters of world peace.
Kolby’s keen passion for the needs of international students has made a difference in the lives of many students studying in the U.S. since he started higher education. Kolby’s energy, creativity, and experience have brought him to the Global SPN team to provide international students with a unique and personal insight into U.S. higher education.
Kolby earned his Master’s in International Affairs from the Pennsylvania State University, and served multiple positions at the University Office of Global Programs. He was an active member of the International Student Council and served as Programming Coordinator and President. He sat on several advisory boards across campus and represented the international student body at Penn State. Kolby serves as student advisor and mentor focusing on graduate studies.
John’s passion and understanding of travel, cultures, and education has been a significant strength to Global SPN. As a student, he volunteered during international student orientation welcoming and mentoring new students to campus. In addition, he served as a student volunteer at several healthcare facilities and travelled to Guatemala with a group of medical professionals to provide healthcare to Guatemalans in remote rural areas.
John’s love for travel has taken him to all states within the U.S. and countries within Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Central and South America. Naturally, he plays an important role in organizing the Global SPN University Tours and assisting students and their families with the most competitive and comprehensive travel options both within the United States and worldwide.
Preston’s strong vision, inspirational spirit, leadership, creativity, motivation, and entrepreneurial ambitions contributed in making Global SPN a reality today.
Preston has mentored numerous students to adjust to campus life and assisted students transfer from English language programs to community college or university. He served as an international student orientation mentor during his years at the Pennsylvania State University and San Diego State University. He is passionate about advising and assisting students in order for them to thrive and succeed while pursuing their academic careers in the United States.
Preston serves as Business Development Manager and responsible for advising, conducting workshops, events planning, social media, marketing and communications.
Noelle brings key organizational skills and managerial knowledge to the daily operations at Global SPN. Before studying in San Diego, she was an active member of her Bay Area community where she worked extensively with students and their parents. In addition to interning for the Alameda County Auditor/Controller Agency and serving as a commissioner for the City of Pleasanton, she successfully competed in several national marketing contests. During her time at San Diego State University, she developed leadership experience through her service as Speaker Chair of the SDSU Pre-Law Society and as an active member of both the Emerging Leaders Program and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
